What is Cataract?

Strabismus is a condition where the eyes are misaligned, which can manifest as convergence, divergence, vertical misalignment, or even torsional misalignment. Surgery may be appropriate for constant or intermittent divergence, depending on several factors. The frequency of ophthalmologist visits also varies based on various considerations. Adults typically require more frequent visits as regular eye health monitoring becomes increasingly important with age. Additionally, school-aged children need eye exams to protect their vision and prevent future health issues.

Every parent should watch out for the following symptoms in their child.

How Does
Squint Develop in Kids?

This lack of coordination leads to misalignment. In cases of squint, one eye points in the direction the person is actually looking, while the other eye turns inward, outward, or downward. This problem is common among children. The earlier the treatment starts, the better the chances of recovery. Typical treatments include the use of prisms in glasses and sometimes surgery to correct the squint. Amblyopia therapy may also be needed in cases of a lazy eye.

What are the treatment
options available for squint?

Squint eyes can be easily treated if noticed at an early stage. However, if ignored, they can lead to serious complications. Common treatments for squint eyes, depending on the severity, include glasses, eye patches, Botulinum toxin injections, and surgery. Surgery involves correcting the weak muscles of the affected eye(s), usually the outer muscles. This procedure is generally safe, though in rare cases, it can cause the operated eye to appear red for a few days due to tissue regrowth.

CATARACT AND REFRACTIVE EYE SURGERY IN LUCKNOW.

What is Cataract?

A cataract is a confused deposit on the natural lens of the eye, sometimes referred to as motiya bind. It obstructs vision, causing myopia, hazy vision, and in rare situations, momentary blindness. It is mostly observed in adults over 40, however cataracts can also be born in certain newborns

Cataracts typically appear in people over the age of 50. The clouding of the lens inside the eyes that results in visual loss is known medically as a cataract.Glasses, contact lenses, or corneal refractive surgery like LASIK cannot cure cataracts. In addition to age, a number of additional variables may contribute to the development of cataracts.

What are the various types of Cataract Eye Treatment Available?

The most advanced method of Cataract surgery is called Phacoemulsification. The surgery is safe and popular. Below are the various types of Cataract Eye Treatment:

The benefits of surgical procedures

  • This is an evaluation of the whites of your eyes, the iris and pupil
  • Your doctor will test your vision with different lenses to determine if glasses or contact lenses can improve your vision.
  • Retina and optic nerve while your eyes are dilated.

Phacoemulsification Cataract Surgery

In this Surgery the Surgeon usually takes an hour and is done by giving anesthesia locally before making any incision. Less than 4mm three-minute incisions are made in the side of the cornea. Cataract is broken into small pieces before removal with the help of ultrasound and sucked out through a tube. An artificial lens, generally made of plastic, silicone or acrylic compounds is inserted in the place of the natural lens, which has been removed. As the artificial lens takes the position inside the eye, the surgery is completed as there is no need to close the incision, as it’s very minute and the patient can go home the same day.

Extra capsular Cataract Surgery

Compared to phacoemulsification surgery, this treatment involves a bigger incision and a longer recuperation period. The patient is kept awake during the procedure and the eye region is made numb with the use of anesthetic. The doctor may more easily extract the patient's naturally hazy lens by breaking it into fragments since the incision is relatively large—about 12 mm on the side of the cornea. After that, an artificial lens is placed in its place to aid with eyesight. The wound is closed with sutures as it replaces the native lens. There's no need to remove the sutures because they heal on their own.

Bladeless Cataract Surgery

As the name suggests, there is no incision made. It’s computer-guided femtosecond laser which dissolves the cataract. It’s the evolution of the cataract surgery which eliminates human error and is faster than conventional ones. Optical coherence Tomograph is the machine used in which a detailed 3-D image of the eye is created, which helps to customize and precise surgery. The femtosecond laser cuts the cataract tissue and precision wise best method. As the surgery is technical and upgraded, the cost is almost double the conventional surgery.
