Optical & Contact Lenses
Contact lenses are thin, curved plastic disks designed to cover the cornea, the transparent front part of the eye. They adhere to the tear film on the cornea due to surface tension. When used with care and proper supervision, contact lenses offer an effective way to correct vision, serving as an excellent alternative to eyeglasses. They can be used to correct various vision problems, including:

Special thin contact lenses can also be used to change eye color. Phacoemulsification Cataract Surgery
In this Surgery the Surgeon usually takes an hour and is done by giving anesthesia locally before making any incision. Less than 4mm three-minute incisions are made in the side of the cornea. Cataract is broken into small pieces before removal with the help of ultrasound and sucked out through a tube. An artificial lens, generally made of plastic, silicone or acrylic compounds is inserted in the place of the natural lens, which has been removed. As the artificial lens takes the position inside the eye, the surgery is completed as there is no need to close the incision, as it’s very minute and the patient can go home the same day.
Extra capsular Cataract Surgery
Compared to phacoemulsification surgery, this treatment involves a bigger incision and a longer recuperation period. The patient is kept awake during the procedure and the eye region is made numb with the use of anesthetic. The doctor may more easily extract the patient's naturally hazy lens by breaking it into fragments since the incision is relatively large—about 12 mm on the side of the cornea. After that, an artificial lens is placed in its place to aid with eyesight. The wound is closed with sutures as it replaces the native lens. There's no need to remove the sutures because they heal on their own.
Bladeless Cataract Surgery
As the name suggests, there is no incision made. It’s computer-guided femtosecond laser which dissolves the cataract.
